The Office of Compline

In the 6th century St. Benedict of Nursia wrote a Rule of Life for his monastic order. At the heart of the Benedictine Rule was the Divine Office which marked each day with seven hours of prayer. The service of Compline was the last of those hours. And countless people have commended the close of each day to God with such prayers ever since.
Every Sunday evening the Christ Church Compline Choir sings this traditional service of evening prayers. The music is unaccompanied chants and motets and lasts 15 – 20 minutes.
